Anton Y. Plakseychuk, MD, PhD received his medical degree from Kazan State Medical University, Russia and completed a residency in orthopedic surgery and Joints Reconstruction fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Plakseychuk also trained in Surgical Navigation, Robotics and Computer Assisted Orthopaedic Surgery and Navigation at Carnegie Mellon and University of Pittsburgh combined fellowship. He is fellowship trained in hip arthroscopy with M.Philippon, world-renowned hip arthroscopy pioneer.  In addition to his extensive experience with all forms of hip surgery, he trained and worked for three years with Prof. Gavril Ilizarov, founder of the eponymous revolutionary limb-lengthening procedure, and has 20 years of clinical and research experience in limb lengthening and correction of skeletal deformities. Dr. Plakseychuk provides comprehensive care for patients with hip and knee disorders. He is a leading specialist in the treatment of avascular necrosis and hip resurfacing procedures, as well as direct anterior minimally invasive total hip arthroplasty.

Anton is passionate about bringing the best possible outcomes to his patients, whether pediatric deformity correction, total knee replacement or all forms of hip surgery. His expertise is sought worldwide and is born of a rich international training and educational experience. Anton is one of the most experienced hip resurfacing surgeons in the United States, with over 600 surgeries, and is the region’s foremost expert in this surgery. He is a tireless champion for safety, excellent surgical outcomes and high patient satisfaction.

Anton is an active clinical researcher in joint replacement and computer technology in orthopedics. His patients appreciate his unique, effective and caring approach to treating their orthopedic issues as well as his measures to radically reduce surgical complications and hospital readmissions.

Anton is an avid skier, tennis player and loves kiting and windsurfing. He is also very active in international philanthropy, treating many underserved patients in Latin America as a part of his annual medical mission trips with Operation Walk.
